Choose Curiosity over Correction.
I tend to correct the people closest to me because I…
"know" what is "right" …
and if "i don't correct them no one else will" …
and "it's for their own good"…
But don’t ask questions directly or out loud. The ego defense of the other person quickly figures out the socratic method technique and gets triggered by my direct questions.
"Why did you do that?" can be further triggering especially since they often don't know why they are doing what they are doing.
One of the techniques I’m considering is "Imagine I'm a 4 year old asking why" but i haven't tested that one in the field.
I don't have a good way to communicate yet other than to observe more from a point of "emptiness" of self. I ask myself what would have to be real in their simulation for them to act the way they did.
From this hypothesis I act as If their simulation is "real" and it's getting some initial positive results.
